E.M.’s World ~ January 10, 2022

Melanie B. Cee has some good questions for us on her Share Your World post today (Erm I started this early and finished it late…so yesterday now). I bet she would love it if you joined in and shared your worlds with her too! 🙂

Here are the questions:

Who do you think is an example of a successful person?

Why are you doing what you’re currently doing? (take this in any context you like, either as a “what you’re doing RIGHT NOW THIS SECOND” or “what you’re doing in your life at this point” or any other way that occurs to you. The question is a bit ambiguous..)

What is your personal theme song?

What do you think about tofu?

GRATITUDE SECTION (as always, optional)

Where did you find bliss this past week?

Here are my answers:

Who do you think is an example of a successful person?

An example of a successful person is one that has the things that they want and needs in life without changing or being fake. Many times, success can make a person become someone else due to the money that they gain from being successful.

So my example of a successful person would be Barack Obama. He never changed who he was just because he became the POTUS. He still had barbeques and roast sessions against people. He sang to his wife, and he stayed humble. He never got too big for his own head, and he is genuinely an amazing person despite all of the bad reviews that he received for being the first Black POTUS. Real people are rare, and I think real people are successful because they remain who they were before fame and fortune.

Why are you doing what you’re currently doing? (take this in any context you like, either as a “what you’re doing RIGHT NOW THIS SECOND” or “what you’re doing in your life at this point” or any other way that occurs to you. The question is a bit ambiguous..)

Right now, I am sitting in front of my computer with the light shining in my window, and I am writing this post up for all of my followers and fellow bloggers to enjoy.

In life, I am writing a novel, studying to be a paralegal, waiting for the Super Bowl, and trying to stay well. The latter is the hardest part 🙂

What is your personal theme song?

My personal theme song is pretty deep. It’s called She Don’t Want The World by 3 Doors Down.

What do you think about tofu?

Eww. Gross.

GRATITUDE SECTION (as always, optional)

Where did you find bliss this past week?

Bliss is in your heart. You just have to look for it and allow it to be bliss.

E.M.’s World – 1/3/2022

It’s weird typing the date as “2022”, but it really is a new year. I am sure it will test, challenge, and frustrate me like all the other years, but at least I will do it with a smile for the most part.

With that said, this post is for Melanie B. Cee’s Share Your World. It’s a Q & A prompt to allow your reader to know a little bit about you without getting too personal, as some of us choose to keep our anonymity.

Here are the questions:

Ricky “The Pious” Raccoon asks a two-parter: (12-2-2021)

What frivolous, but annoying, thing that people do be considered a sin (crime)?

Chewing food with their mouth open to the point that you can hear the food sloshing in their mouth as they chew and the slapping of their lips together while they do it should most definitely be considered sinful and/or a crime. It sounds like a cow chewing its cud, and it’s a terribly bad habit.

And how should violators be made to repent (be punished) for it?

Hmm. Good question. A slap in the face after all the food is swallowed sounds good to me. Anyone can enforce it…just walk up and tell them to chew with their mouth closed and then pop them right in the cheek. That’s how bad it annoys me 😀 😀 😀

Mary “The Poster Lamb For Cute” (12-9-2021) asks

Imagination IN and impracticality and logic aside, if you could pick one animal to have as an exotic pet based solely on how cute and adorable it is, what would it be?

An owl. I love owls. It does not matter which kind of owl. I think all of them are beautiful, majestic, and sacred. They are also my spirit animal.

The Sponkies (the result of an unusual pairing of a donkey and a sparkle pony) 12-16-2021

Do you have any siblings? If so, where do you rank in birth order? And do you think either of these facts contributed to the person you became?

Yes. I have two siblings. They are both sisters. One sister I share the same mom, and the other I share the same dad. I am the baby of the three of us. I have always had the strongest wild side of the three of us, but I do not believe it had anything to do with them. I was strong-minded and stubborn even as a child. My sister that I live with would tell you that I was a brat that got her in trouble all the time, so I think I have always been a pain in the arse 😀 😀

12-23-2021 ZAC (short for Prozac because his somewhat maniacal grinning face is rather creepy)…

We all have things that make us happy, but what makes you deliriously, giddily, tail wagging-ly happy?

When people do things for me that I am not expecting, I get really happy and giddy. I also get like that when I get praise from someone. It makes me feel like I have accomplished something.

Evil Squirrel (and the final question from E.S. “Nest” o’ fun!) 12-30-2021

If you had an alter ego, who or what would it be? Describe some fun or interesting things about them!

Sometimes I feel like I already have an alter ego. Being a Gemini, it’s a given that there are two sides to me, and they are both very different. The good twin is caring, loving, compassionate, and all of those other traits that are making her unique to herself. The bad twin is a bit of a twit, brat, or whichever other name that can relate to her obnoxiousness. She has a wild side, and she partakes in risky behavior…shops way too much and does not get attached to people…mostly because no one sticks around, so why should she? I don’t like my bad twin very much when I am trying to figure out life. In my mind’s eye, she would be the confident one, and the good one is the emotional one.

If I could relate that to some type of person or superhero, my alter ego would be a female version of Venom.

What are some hopes or accomplishments you’d like to see happen in 2022?

I will make a list on this one.

  • Get my paralegal certification
  • Take the LSAT
  • Get my pain figured out and fixed
  • Get a job
  • Lose a few pounds but not too many
  • Get in better physical shape
  • Fix the small issues with my car
  • Paint my room
  • Love myself

These are just the things that come to mind.

Thank you Melanie for this amazing prompt for us to participate in! We all appreciate you and all of the hard work you do on WordPress. ❤

E.M.’s World – 12/13/2021

Each week, Melanie hosts a prompt called Share Your World. It’s a fun prompt that allows you to share a little bit of yourself with the WordPress World and beyond. I enjoy this prompt and look forward to it!

Here are the questions (along with the Gratitude Section):

What is your opinion of the state of health care in your country?  Adequate or inadequate?  What could be done to improve it?

What are two words that describe you best?

Do you have a morning routine? If so, what it’s like?

What’s something that really makes your blood race?

Do you enjoy singing festive songs during *insert festive celebration that you observe to replace “Christmas” if it’s not relevant to you * Christmas carols or songs?
GRATITUDE SECTION  (as always optional)

Feel free to share something that brings peace to you.

Here are my answers and affirmation:

What is your opinion of the state of health care in your country?  Adequate or inadequate?  What could be done to improve it?

I feel like the state of health care in the United States is inadequate. I do not want to get too political, but money talks in this country in all regards to human rights. If you got a good deal of money and great insurance, you get a different level of care than someone who is on a government-assisted health plan and low income. Every person…regardless of social and financial status…should receive the same level of care. It just doesn’t happen and never will because that is who we are. Sad…but true.

What are two words that describe you best?

Emotional and Benevolent…

Emotional describes me because I am a very strong empath, and I suck up everyone’s emotions when I choose to or when I forget to ground myself. It can consume me or make me stronger. I try to be stronger with empathy than the latter. I wear my heart on my sleeve, which is sometimes a downfall, and I give my heart to those that I feel love for without restraint. I do not put up many walls unless I feel a certain way about a person.

Benevolence describes me because I am one of those that will give the shirt off my back if it will help someone. I do a lot of volunteering in my community, and I love to help people. I took a job quiz one time, and it highlighted my helping hand and caring for other people. I would not be happy in sales. I have to be working for the greater good, or I am not a happy person.

Do you have a morning routine? If so, what it’s like?

I do have a morning routine, and if it gets disturbed, I don’t wake up the right way…if that makes sense. I have to do certain things before I feel alive and awake lol.

My routine is this:

  • I wake by 9:30 a.m.
  • Restroom while the dogs get antsy because they have to go too lol.
  • Grab my coffee from the fridge (I make a pitcher of iced coffee), and then I head out for a smoke.
  • Cigarette time and I play my game on my cell phone while I smoke… Fishing Clash.
  • 2nd cigarette and more fishing
  • Come inside, make coffee (if I am low in the fridge), and go to my room. Take my medication.
  • Check my notifications on WP and respond to comments.
  • Go through my tabs on my browser and get the new daily word challenges and prompts. I write them all down in my notebook.
  • Go back outside for a smoke and think about the words and the novel I am writing.
  • Go inside to my room, coffee in hand, and get busy writing.

My Sundays are different in football season. I check on the games when I come inside, then check my notification, and then grab prompts. I start writing until games come on.

Now, if someone interrupts the above-said process…I get frustrated. It’s how I function because it is the same each day. Before I was religiously blogging, those blogging steps were homework steps because I was in college. After graduation, this routine started to keep me from losing my mind. I cannot stand to just sit and not know what I want and need to do. With blogging, it has helped me maintain myself and my illness. When I had my spirals, it was hard to not know what to do with myself. All of you have helped me manage my mental wellness. Thank you.

What’s something that really makes your blood race?

Racism. Donald Trump. Wrongful convictions. Mass incarceration for the rich to get richer due to private prison. The fact that there is no such thing as corrections or rehabilitation because the justice system makes money on recidivism. People that find they have a right to judge me for the choices that I make in MY life.

That’s just a few things *cheesy grin* that makes my blood race…or boil.

Do you enjoy singing festive songs during *insert festive celebration that you observe to replace “Christmas” if it’s not relevant to you * Christmas carols or songs?

I do, but not for the entire month of Christmas. Christmas week, I approve the plethora of Christmas songs on the radio and Christmas movies on TV. I cannot listen and watch them all month long. Otherwise, by the time Christmas comes, I am burnt out on Christmas lol.

My favorite carols are Silent Night, Rudolph, White Christmas, and any of the other ones that Bing Crosby sang. I grew up with my grandma playing that record on Christmas Eve when everyone would come over. I miss her.

GRATITUDE SECTION  (as always optional)

Feel free to share something that brings peace to you.

Iced Coffee (Mocha) and Cigarettes! My caffeine and my nicotine keep everyone free of my wrath if I do not have them.

  1. SHARE YOUR WORLD QUESTIONS FROM THE BLOGGERS (Plus one Holiday one from me)

Di  (11-2-2021)  What really turns your stomach?  (politicians aside)

Blood…I cannot handle it, especially if it squirts from a vein. Eww! I get dizzy and sick to my stomach. It does an end-over flip in my tummy.

Jim and Fandango (12-1-2021)    Recently in a FPQ challenge, a question was asked about fish.   That ‘sparked’ a further train of thought by me about (Jim and Fandango’s discussion) “Whether or not recycling is helpful OR if it’s really far too late for anything of that sort to make a difference?

It’s far too late…sadly. We are terrible with trash and recycling.

What would YOU do with the immense amount of ‘garbage’ in the world, if there weren’t dumps or barges (Sorry New York/New Jersey) where it was taken to be processed?   (My question thought up from Jim and Fandango’s)

Burn it down!!! *said in Seth Rollins WWE music last year*

Evil Squirrel posed the following (12-5-2021)   What’s the oddest container you’ve ever gotten a gift in?
Holiday themed question:

Do people behave differently during Christmas (insert your own holiday or festive season)?

Absolutely! Some are more genuine, and other people are more fake.
Do they try to be better?

I think they try to be better…to make things better maybe…but I know who they really are on the inside. I don’t let them hide behind gifts to fool me into thinking they changed after 45 years of my life.
Do you donate something (money, clothes…) to charities?

I donate time to ACLU, and sometimes I donate to the Salvation Army.
Do you give something to homeless people?

Food and clothes…every year!

This was written for Share Your World (a day late).

GRATITUDE SECTION (As always, optional)
This is an allegedly joyful time of year.   How do you, personally,  FEEL?

I used to hate Christmas, but my love of Yule has come back to making me feel good. I have my children back in my life and a new grandbaby, so it is nice to enjoy it with them.

My only bad feeling is about not being able to afford as many gifts for my family. They spoiled me rotten.

E.M.’s World – 11/29/2021

I always love Mondays because there are so many good prompts. Melanie’s Share Your World is one of those awesome prompts, and these are my answers to her questions.

If you had the power to strike one person in your life permanently speechless, who would it be? (Real names aren’t necessary, vague descriptions are fine… and yes, this is being asked in fun and not to be mean)

I’m going to have to go with Fandango and say Donald Trump. Ted Cruz is a close contender though. Can I have both?

If you could relive your childhood over again, what’s one thing from this modern world today you’d want to take back with you?

The only thing I can think of, besides a cell phone or computer, would be a hoverboard. I hated walking to school, and while I loved riding my bicycle, I still think that I would have loved to cruise around on one of those when it was cold. I grew up in Illinois, so the temps got pretty low.

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple are the standard colors of the rainbow.
Name something you love (or greatly admire/appreciate) for all six major colors of the rainbow! (Sorry indigo, you’re just blue-purple.  Hot pink?  You’re too flashy!)

Red: Solo cups! I drink my coffee in them. I make really good iced coffee.

Orange: Me and orange have a love/hate relationship. If I had to pick something though, orange juice…

Yellow: The dashing yellow line down streets…it’s when I can pass people that drive too darn slow! I didn’t use to have road rage or pass people aggressively until I moved to California. My car, Delilah, added to the fury lol.

No photo description available.

Green: Green Bay Packers – they are my second team in the NFL

Blue: Pepsi! The can is blue! It’s my other favorite drink besides coffee.

Purple: Anything! It’s my favorite color, but nothing lavender makes me happy. I collect a many of things, but my Nightmare Before Christmas collection always has purple!

If you were to open the world’s most accurate fortune cookie, what would your fortune inside it read?

This one seems appropriate lol…

Santa’s tired of people leaving him out cookies and milk on Christmas Eve night!  If you really wanted to get on Santa’s good side, what would you leave out for him to eat/drink instead? (This question applies whether you celebrate Christmas or not.  It’s just for fun, so imagination?  Welcome!  )

GRATITUDE SECTION (Still optional)

What plans do you have for the upcoming holiday/celebration/festival season?

This Christmas is my first to spoil my grandbaby. She was just born 10 days before Christmas Eve last year, and she had a bit of time in NICU. So, this year, it’s going to be about her and my daughter. We will have some good food and Christmas music. Sister put the tree up, and the theme this year is the Grinch. I will have to upload a picture for you guys later.

E.M.’s World – 11/22/2021

What are some red flags to watch out for in daily life?

Some red flags that I watch for in daily life are anything that affects my mood in a negative way. I am an empath, so I am like a human sponge for other people’s emotions and feelings. If anything feels off, I try to listen to my gut about them or the flag that is being thrown. Lies and sneaky stuff really trigger my red flags, and when someone is unduly angry, it makes my soul catch on fire. I hate confrontation, and I cannot stand to feel like I cannot exist in the same space with someone.

What obstacles would you include in the ‘world’s most amazing obstacle course”?

  • Frogger stances where you must jump like a frog to get from point A to point B
  • A twerking contest between a person and a goat…the best booty shaking goes forward.
  • Sing an 80’s hairband ballad while climbing a rope to get the key to the next obstacle
  • Crab crawl through shallow water
  • Tarzan vine to swing across a large body of water, but you have to miss the trees.

Who is the best movie or book villain in your opinion?  (‘book’ is included because some folks don’t watch movies)

What, in your opinion, is the most beautiful/handsome part of your face? (no dissing yourself please, we’re all beautiful/handsome!)

My eyes! I am the only one that got my grandpa’s blue eyes, and they are the key to seeing who I am and what I am about. I love my eyes.

Next week on Thursday, Americans celebrate Thanksgiving.   What are some foods you enjoy for your festive celebration dinners?  (Doesn’t have to be Thanksgiving, as I realize the whole world isn’t participating in ‘our’ holiday)

Every year for Thanksgiving, it’s my tradition to make homemade noodles. My mom and grandma started the tradition, so I carried it on. The other foods we have are turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes with homemade gravy, green beans, deviled eggs, cranberry sauce, and yeast rolls. Then the desserts this year are pumpkin pie, marbled cheesecake brownies, banana pudding, and Jell-O cake.

E.M.’s World – 11/08/2021

Every week, Melanie invites us to share a little piece of our world with questions from her Share Your World prompt. This is my world that I will share this week.

How many pillows do you sleep with? If over one or two, is it because you sleep better ‘propped up’ a little?

I sleep with two pillows in the beginning, and as I sleep, it dwindles down to the one below my big head lol. The initial 2nd pillow is to prop my arm up while I finish playing games on my phone or when my arm is hurting. I have a torn labrum in my armpit and microtears on my rotator cuff, and then I have some narrowing in my neck nerves from a herniated disc after a fusion in 2016. The second pillow helps me to fall asleep, but the poor thing usually finds itself wedged against the wall before I wake up.

What would be the worst thing you could put in a piñata?

Slime…Liquid Cheddar Cheese…Anything Wet or Sticky

What noise annoys you the most?

The gasping sound of the little boy on The Grudge, The Purge Siren, or a squeaky chair

If cartoon physics suddenly replaced real physics, what are some things you would want to try?

The dropping of the jaw with the backlash of it dropping over and over again from something shocking.

Please share something good that has happened to you over the past month.

I began feeling more like myself due to my medicine beginning to kick in and level my anxiety episodes, and I have had fewer depressive episodes as well. I am sleeping more normally, and my insomnia is subsiding due to the sleeping aspect of my bipolar meds as well.

E.M.’s World – 11/2/2021

These are my answers to Share Your World. If you want to share with us, click here.

What was the very first popular song you ever remember taking a liking to? I’m not talking about children’s songs or old traditional songs… but the kind of songs you’d hear on the radio.

Are you one of those people who get queasy at the sight of blood, or could you watch an open heart surgery?

So, it depends. I have been a cutter since I was very young, and that blood doesn’t make me queasy, but other people’s blood spewing out of their arms will definitely make me feel icky. I have to look away when they draw blood or put in an IV. Blood and I have a love/hate relationship.

Who or what do you feel is lurking right behind you, just waiting to ambush you and make your life a living hell (or “heck” for those with delicate sensibilities)?

My PK energy…always. I am my own worst enemy at times.

What is the gaudiest thing you have ever worn?

Plastic framed glasses in 7th grade…I wish I could find a picture to show you. My mother gave me a mullet with a perm, and my glasses swallowed my entire face. Or at least it felt like it lol.

Fess up! What was something you did as a child that got you into BIG trouble?

Let’s see. I ran away three times. I got caught smoking a lot, once while at school. My mom’s boyfriend was on the school board, and they were touring the school grounds. We were outside the cafeteria, and I was caught with the cigarette in my hand. I got in so much trouble at home and at school. I got in-house detention, and at home, I got grounded.

What are you looking forward to as the festive season approaches?

Family! It’s everything. I look forward to feeling better and spending some quality time with the ones I love most on this planet.

Share Your World – E.M. Style – 10/11/2021 Prompt

Melanie B. Cee hosts a prompt of questions that allows us to share how we see the world according to the questions. This is my first share on this prompt *smiles*. Here are my Share Your World answers:

What is the scariest game (board or on-line) you ever may have played?

I have a couple scary games, one board and one online). The first one is not a game but some treat it as such, and that “game” is Ouija. When I was a young girl, me and my best friend, Janet, dabbled around with one, and it almost ruined both of our lives. There is nothing good behind the Ouija. The second game is online and called Dead By Daylight. If you have never played it, serial killers hunt you are you become the hunter. The goal is to start the generators to open the door to escape before the killer gets you and hangs you on a meat hook.

What’s just ‘over the rainbow” for you?

I wish I knew. There’s not many rainbows in the Valley because it hardly rains. If I had to guess, there would be little men with pitchforks awaiting my arrival lol.

Do you have to watch something upbeat after watching a suspense or horror movie so you can go to sleep?

I cannot watch horror movies at all. It does not matter the time of day I watch them…always end up with night terrors if I watch something scary.

Is there intent behind every action?

Usually, yes. Everybody wants something in return…unfortunately.

GRATITUDE SECTION  (as always, optional)

I am thankful for having so many fellow bloggers that read and interact with my posts, and I am thankful that I am not alone because of all of you.
