Sanctity of Retreat

Paradise exists where it is created, and it can be anywhere that brings you peace.

So many people take it for granted, and others overindulge in an imitation of paradise.

An imitation because they never enjoy seeing their reflection in the water.

They never feel the sun on their face, nor the breeze of the wind.

Joy is not found in their paradise because they’re lacking the emotions to feel it.

The ones that find their versions of paradise manifest it and make it unique to enjoy.

Sanctity could be found on a remote island off the coast of a big city if needed.

Some escape to backyards filled with the love and laughter of family and friends.

The place that makes you happy, your paradise, could be the one place you can finally be alone.

The moral of the story is…

The retreat of your own choosing is always a great journey to having a mindful paradise and escape from daily life.

Learn to enjoy every minute of your escapade…

It cannot keep you at peace forever.

Tis’ the Season to be Shopping – #writephoto

Shopping Trolley in an empty supermarket

This week, KL Caley asks us, “Is shopping to be loved or loathed?” This is the photo prompt for that question.

My answer is:

I love to shop, but I loathe having limited income this Christmas season. Shopping is one of my favorite things to do, and it’s one of my risky behaviors that go along with my Bipolar Disorder. When I cannot shop and get things that I want, it makes me a bit manic. This season for Christmas will be hard because my money is limited. I will find a way to make everyone’s gifts special, but I cannot go all out like I normally do.

This photo will be my view in a few weeks, as I’ll be pushing the shopping cart down the aisle looking for the perfect gift for everyone. Some gifts will be purchased in a store just like this one, and others I will go to my old standby…Amazon. This picture reminded me that I should have put my favorite perfume on my Christmas list though *laughs*.

Tis’ the season to be shopping and thankful, so I will love to shop and be thankful that I have another year with my loved ones after a really bad year for many people due to the pandemic. We will gather this year, and I pray for everyone’s safety.

xoxo, E.M.

A Meadow of Stones – #writephoto

Some stones are located in the grassland which is surrounded by hills.
Stones – Image by KL Caley

I cast the first stone into my own life

To pave my own way into the light from the darkness.

I breathe in my being and essence in the clearing

Of this meadow full of stones to cast in my path.

The beauty in the distances brings me back to life

And it is then that I see the clarity of who I am.

Who will I be? How will I find my way?

This path will lead me to greatness.

I promise…
