E.M.’s Sunday Ramble Prompt #18

Today is my sister’s birthday! πŸ™‚

Welcome back to the next Sunday Ramble. For those that are just joining us, the Sunday Ramble Prompt will be based upon a certain topic. I will ask five questions about that topic (sometimes a bonus question will surface), and you can ramble on however you wish. This post will be scheduled for 5 a.m. PST (California Time) every Sunday.

This week’s topics are:

“Vacations and Travel“.

I hope you enjoy the ramble!!

I am on vacation, so I figured a peaceful vacation theme was in order ⚘️🌹🌈

There is never a limit on how much or how long that you can ramble as long as you enjoy doing so πŸ™‚

Happy Sunday!

Here are the questions:

  1. When at the ocean, do you want to be in it, on it, or just look at it? (If you don’t like visiting the ocean, what is a hobby you enjoy on vacation or in general?)
  2. Have you ever surfed or gone snorkeling?
  3. When traveling, do you experiment with the local dining experience or pack a picnic/cook for yourself and anyone with you?
  4. What is your biggest pet peeve when traveling?
  5. Are you someone who takes a lot of photos on vacation? If so, you can share your favorite vacation photos. (If not, share your favorite vacation story.)

Once you have rambled on all of the questions, be sure to tag it with #EM-SRP and create a pingback to this post.

Please visit your fellow bloggers to see how they are doing today, and my answers are below πŸ™‚

xoxo, E.M.

Here are my answers:

When at the ocean, do you want to be in it, on it, or just look at it? (If you don’t like visiting the ocean, what is a hobby you enjoy on vacation or in general?)
All of the above, except I have never been on a boat or ship in the ocean. It’s on my list of things I want to do.
Have you ever surfed or gone snorkeling?
I have not, mostly because I have only been in the ocean three or four times in my nearly 46 years of life.
When traveling, do you experiment with the local dining experience or pack a picnic/cook for yourself and anyone with you?
We always look for a popular local spot when we travel. We will probably bring some snacks with us this time around and our own drinks. On this mini-vacation, we will be going to Pismo Beach, and there is an Italian place that we love to have dinner at. Normally, I do not try too many new foods because I am stubborn and set in my ways. I am also very picky.
What is your biggest pet peeve when traveling?
I expect this to change when I stop smoking, but finding a place to smoke is always the hardest and most annoying thing for me. I am very dependent on my cigarettes, but I will be quitting once my vape pen gets here.
The runner up would be rude people who know they are being rude just to be rude.
Are you someone who takes a lot of photos on vacation? If so, you can share your favorite vacation photos. (If not, share your favorite vacation story.)
I will have tons of pictures to share with you all when I get back from my trip on Tuesday!

Here’s wishing you a great break Em πŸ™‚

When at the ocean, do you want to be in it, on it, or just look at it? (If you don’t like visiting the ocean, what is a hobby you enjoy on vacation or in general?)

I used to love swimming in it, haven’t done that since leaving Australia [as in l have NEVER swum in the seas off England]

Have you ever surfed or gone snorkeling?

Surfed once never again nearly killed someone by surfing into them and snorkling nope, although l used to be like a fish anyway when swimming. I remember once many years ago it was 1981 and l was on holiday with my parents in Portugal and at that time l was just 18 and it was my first time at seeing a topless female swimmer and it during that holiday that l vastly improved my underwater swimming techniques! I used to swim under that girl almost all day!!

When traveling, do you experiment with the local dining experience or pack a picnic/cook for yourself and anyone with you?

When away do as they do ay! I used to always sample every delight going and as an adult l continued to do the same – all dishes in the restaurant and out.

What is your biggest pet peeve when traveling?

People – the bloody sods are everywhere anyone would think they were on holiday or something!

Are you someone who takes a lot of photos on vacation? If so, you can share your favorite vacation photos. (If not, share your favorite vacation story.)

I was and l wasn’t, l used to collect postcards when l wasn’t snapping away. mm, l must write about some of my holidays πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks, Rory! It was a great vacation, and it really didn’t end until today. I am just now sitting at my computer for the first time since last Saturday evening, but so worth it! πŸ™‚

I loved all of these answers! Your life always sounds like an adventure to me, and you have experienced such amazing things with the traveling I have read about so far πŸ™‚ I am quite the “chicken” on trying new things, so I have never surfed or snorkeled. I have taken off on a set of water skis before though πŸ˜€ That was scary LOL! No one told me how to do it, and the skis snapped back and smacked me in my legs. I had welts on my legs for at least a week lol. You live and learn, right?

My dad used to collect post cards on vacation too. Where they ended up when he passed, who knows…They were always pretty cool to see.

Nude beaches would make me very distracted because I am naturally a nosy person LOL. I spend more time watching people than anything else if there are many folks around.

I would love to read of your holidays πŸ™‚ Thanks for rambling with me, Rory!

Hey Em, glad to read you had a great break, we all need them. I am overdue a holiday, last one was 2014.

I broke my ribs water skiing and that was my first and last time – so dangerous a sport! πŸ™‚
