It’s Thursday, which means it is Thursday Inspiration Day 🙂 Jim hosts this prompt, and he gives several ways to participate.

“Respond to this challenge, by either by using the prompt word behind, or going with the above picture, or by means of the song ‘Bring It On Home to Me’, or by going with another song by Sam Cooke, or anything else that you think fits.”

I always have to be extra…mostly because that is who I am. Plus, my love of music is HUGE. I will be doing all of the above.
For the prompt word “behind”, I am sharing Limp Bizkit’s version of Behind Blue Eyes, which was originally done by The Who. Their version is great too, but I like the musical arrangement better in Limp Bizkit’s song. I relate to this song, and I always have…probably because I have blue eyes. I always have had dark hair and blue eyes (until I had to dye it because I have gone really really gray). It’s definitely one of my emo songs.
(originally by The Who)
No one knows what it’s like to be the bad man
To be the sad man behind blue eyes
And no one knows what it’s like to be hated
To be fated to telling only lies
But my dreams, they aren’t as empty
As my conscience seems to be
I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance that’s never free
No one knows what it’s like to feel these feelings
Like I do, and I blame you
No one bites back as hard on their anger
None of my pain and woe can show through
But my dreams, they aren’t as empty
As my conscience seems to be
I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance that’s never free
Discover, L.I.M.P., say it
Discover, L.I.M.P., say it
Discover, L.I.M.P., say it
Discover, L.I.M.P., say it

No one knows what it’s like to be mistreated
To be defeated behind blue eyes
No one knows how to say that they’re sorry
And don’t worry, I’m not tellin’ lies
But my dreams, they aren’t as empty
As my conscience seems to be
I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance that’s never free
No one knows what it’s like to be the bad man
To be the sad man behind blue eyes
My second song is in response to the picture, and y’all know I gotta go crazy with a picture of a butt *giggles* I won’t post the lyrics to these, but you get the jest of it 🙂
Now I saved the best for last, and Jim is probably saying “Thank God” by now 😁😂🤣
Sam Cooke is one of my favorite artists that has ever graced any of our ears. He was taken way too soon purely for having a voice and not being afraid to use it for social justice. Rest in Paradise, King Sam Cooke.
I was born by the river in a little tent
Oh, and just like the river I’ve been running ever since
It’s been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gon’ come, oh yes, it will
It’s been too hard living, but I’m afraid to die
‘Cause I don’t know what’s up there beyond the sky
It’s been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gon’ come, oh yes, it will
I go to the movie and I go downtown
Somebody keep telling me don’t hang around
It’s been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gon’ come, oh yes, it will
Then I go to my brother
And I say, “Brother, help me please”
But he winds up knockin’ me
Back down on my knees
There’ve been times that I thought I couldn’t last for long
But now I think I’m able to carry on
It’s been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gon’ come, oh yes, it will
xoxo, E.M.
