E.M.’s Light Speed ~ Thursday Inspiration

It’s that time again to share some good music with Jim’s Thursday Inspiration.

“Respond to this challenge, by either by using the prompt word light, or going with the above picture, or by means of the song ‘Philadelphia Freedom’, or by going with another song by Elton John, or anything else that you think fits.”

~Newepicauthor

For the prompt word of “light“, the song I will be sharing with you is Lights by Journey. Steve Perry grew up where I live, and I have always loved Journey. I remember listening to them as a kid with my mom and my dad over the radio. Never would I have thought that I would live in Perry’s hometown. I thought that was pretty cool.

Lights

When the lights go down in the city
And the sun shines on the bay
Ooh, I wanna be there, yeah, in my city
Oh, whoa, oh
Oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh

So you think you’re lonely
Well, my friend, I’m lonely, too
I wanna get back to my city by the bay
Oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh

It’s sad
Oh, there’s been mornings out on the road without you
Without your charms
Oh, whoa, oh
My, my, my, my, my, my
Oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh

When the lights go down in the city
And the sun shines on the bay
Ooh, I wanna be there, yeah, in my city
Oh, whoa, oh
Oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh

When the lights go down in the city
And the sun shines on the bay
Ooh, I wanna be there, yeah, in my city
Oh, whoa, oh
Oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh
Mm
Oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh

Now if I was traveling at the speed of light and turned on the flashlight, the first song that comes to mind is Rock You Like A Hurricane by The Scorpions. Why? It’s the first reaction that I had to the picture and the thought of someone flashing a light in my eye when I am going at the speed of light. *giggles*

Rock You Like A Hurricane

It’s early morning
The sun comes out
Last night was shaking
And pretty loud
My cat is purring
It scratches my skin
So what is wrong
With another sin?
The bitch is hungry
She needs to tell
So give her inches
And feed her well
More days to come
New places to go
I’ve got to leave
It’s time for a show

Here I am, rock you like a hurricane
Here I am, rock you like a hurricane

My body is burning
It starts to shout
Desire is coming
It breaks out loud
Lust is in cages
Till storm breaks loose
Just have to make it
With someone I choose
The night is calling
I have to go
The wolf is hungry
He runs the show
He’s licking his lips
He’s ready to win
On the hunt tonight
For love at first sting

Here I am
Rock you like a hurricane (Are you ready, baby?)
Here I am
Rock you like a hurricane
Here I am
Rock you like a hurricane (Come on, come on, baby)
Here I am
Rock you like a hurricane

Rock you like a hurricane

It’s early morning
The sun comes out
Last night was shaking
And pretty loud
My cat is purring
It scratches my skin
So what is wrong
With another sin?

The night is calling
I have to go
The wolf is hungry
He runs the show
He’s licking his lips
He’s ready to win
On the hunt tonight
For love at first sting

Here I am
Rock you like a hurricane (Are you ready, baby?)
Here I am
Rock you like a hurricane
Here I am
Rock you like a hurricane (Come on, come on, come on, come on)
Here I am
Rock you like a hurricane

I hope you all enjoy my songs! Thanks to Jim for hosting this great prompt each week!

xoxo, E.M.
