E.M.’s Sunday Ramble Prompt #6

Welcome back to the next Sunday Ramble. For those that are just joining us, the Sunday Ramble Prompt will be based upon a certain topic. I will ask five questions about that topic, and you can ramble on however you wish. This post will be scheduled for 5 a.m. PST (California Time) every Sunday.

This week’s topic is “Cars and Driving“.

Here are the questions:

  1. We all had a first car. What year, make, and model was your first car?
  2. If you won the lottery, would you buy your dream car and what kind would it be? If you do not care to talk about cars, how would you spend your lottery money?
  3. The Transporter (hauling other people and going from point A to point B), Gone in 60 Seconds (fast!), or Driving Miss Daisy (Slow)? (This would be examples of your driving style.)
  4. Which is your preference to drive on: Interstate, Freeways, or Back Roads?
  5. Pick your favorite famous car on television.

Once you have answered all of the questions, be sure to tag it with #EM-SRP and create a pingback to this post.

Please visit your fellow bloggers to see their rambles. It’s a nice way to get to know them *smiles*

Here are my answers:

  1. We all had a first car. What year, make, and model was your first car?

My first car was a 1992 Ford Thunderbird Sport with a 5.0. Teal green with a lavender stripe…My mom gave it to me, but it had a head seal leak and eventually I sat and died.
  2. If you won the lottery, would you buy your dream car and what kind would it be? If you do not care to talk about cars, how would you spend your lottery money?

I would. I want a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in a new model. My second dream car would be an old 1970 Dodge Super Bee. Both dream cars could be purple, red, black, or grey. I have always loved cars, especially loud ones. I grew up on the back of Harley’s, so it kind of made me a motorhead. I am pretty good at diagnosing them, but I am not as good with fixing them with my own two hands.
  3. The Transporter (hauling other people and going from point A to point B), Gone in 60 Seconds (fast!), or Driving Miss Daisy (Slow)? (This would be examples of your driving style.)

I am a mixture of all three, but since getting my Charger, I am a Gone in 60 Seconds kind of girl.
  4. Which is your preference to drive on: Interstate, Freeways, or Back Roads?

Backroads…I get anxiety on the freeways. If the lanes go to three or more lanes of fast traffic, I have major anxiety, which is not safe for anyone. I avoid the freeways.
  5. Pick your favorite famous car on television.

Kitt on Night Rider or General Lee

Last week’s Wrap Up! Thank you to everyone that made my day by joining my prompt! I cannot believe that it is 2022 already! I remember watching Back to the Future in the 80s and thinking that cars would be flying by now *giggles*.

  1. Your dream car could be purple?! How cool! I was already fascinated to read that your first car had a lavender stripe. I don’t drive, so I’m not able to answer all of your questions, but I might participate anyway.

    • Thanks Astrid! I wish I had a picture of my Thunderbird *smiles* It came stock like that with the stripe, and we loved driving that car. *smiles* Down the street from me, there is a purple challenger. It’s gorgeous! I have always loved purple everything *giggles* Have a great Sunday!

  4. Ooo, a new Q&A challenge! I’d love to participate, but I’m not into cars and don’t particularly like driving. Since I don’t have much to say on this topic, I’ll just write my answers in this comment.

    1. My first car was a used Toyota Corona (the old name for the Corolla). It was yellow, and had belonged to a partner in my dad’s law firm. I have bought Toyotas, mostly new, ever since, with only two deviations. It’s easier to drive a make I know, because I can find all the accessories easily, and Toyota has always had reasonably priced cars that I feel comfortable driving.
2.If I won the lottery, I might buy a car, but it wouldn’t be first on my list. Travel would probably consume most of the money. But if I were to buy a new car, I have vowed to buy an electric vehicle. Currently, I’m driving a hybrid and don’t expect to get rid of it any time soon.
    3. I don’t speed very much, although I sometimes drive in automatic brain mode, and catch myself driving 50 mph in a 35 mph zone! Mostly I drive about 5 miles over the speed limit. The only infraction I ever had while driving was a speeding ticket. Now they use cameras, so one never knows when a ticket will arrive in the mail! (My husband just got one.)
4.I don’t drive on expressways anymore, if I can avoid it. I get very anxious when I’m driving that fast. I like back roads, but mostly I drive on major streets to get from A to B. When we’re together, I let my husband drive, even on road trips! I have had a couple of panic attacks while driving the last few years. I don’t know why – so I’d hate to have a panic attack while driving on the expressway!
    5. I don’t have a favorite TV car. I don’t notice what people are driving unless it becomes an important plot point in the show, or someone identifies him/herself with it. Most of the cars I see on TV are in commercials!

    • It’s nice to meet you, amora! I am glad to have you join in 🙂 I am like that as well when getting cars. They have to drive a certain way, and I am loyal to their comfort. Traveling is on my bucket list 😌 You and I are similar on the expressway anxiety too. I loved all of your answers, and I’m glad you found my Sunday Ramble 🙂 Welcome and Happy Sunday!

  7. Ohh My gosh I picked KITT from Knight Rider as my favorite famous car, as well… and no I didn’t look at your answers first 😂 😂. I think I had a bigger crush on the car then the man (Michael Knight) hee hee. Course being older now I’m not so sure I’d want a self driving car, still it was a cool idea for a car.

    • 😀 I was too young to crush on him I think, but I was in love with KITT *giggles* I wouldn’t want one of the self-driving vehicles these days also. I think that is a scary thought. Though in Back to the Future, cars flew into the future lol. I think that would be scary too though lol. I cannot believe it is 2022.
