It just turned Christmas Day where I live (California), and I am absolutely exhausted. For those who celebrate it, Merry Christmas! I wish I was better versed at who celebrates what and when at this time of year, so to all of my followers, Happy Holidays to all of you!
I made homemade fudge and homemade chocolate cheesecake on Thursday evening, and I made my own cherry glaze to go with the cheesecake. I pitted all the cherries (2 full bags), cooked them down and simmered them in some Cointreau. The sweet to bitter ratio was perfect and offset the richness of the chocolate perfectly.
I will post some pictures of our spread tomorrow. I have to get pics of the served cheesecake from my sis, and I have to take a picture of the Jell-O cake she made, as well as a pic of the fudge.
To sum it all up, I am in pain from the cooking and baking, but it all was worth it. I loved making those things for my family. The cheesecake and fudge were presents from me to them since I could not afford much this year. I will take all the pain in the world to see their smiles as they enjoy the things I made for them. Sometimes it’s the heart you put into things that are the best things, and I could taste my love in the goodies I made for them. I can only hope they taste that love too. It was a great couple of days!
Fibbing Friday, Flashback Friday, and my word challenges I enjoy will have to be posted tomorrow. I’m beat and can barely keep my eyes open writing this post *smiles*.
P.S. I owe you guys a bunch of pics that I keep promising lol
